Loyola Marymount is a private Jesuit, Catholic and Marymount university in Los Angeles. Its merit awards are automatic and among the largest published for international students anywhere recorded: 'All first-year applicants are automatically considered for academic scholarships. Scholarship amounts vary between USD 2,000 to USD 30,000 annually.' LMU is equally clear about the limit: 'LMU does not offer need-based financial aid to international students.' Its financial aid office confirms the position formally: 'International undergraduate students may be considered for LMU funded first-year academic scholarships. Consideration for these awards does not require an application. Only United States citizens and eligible non-citizens are eligible to receive federal or state-funded types of financial aid.' First-year scholarships run up to four years, and the English threshold is TOEFL 90.
