Mississippi State is Mississippi's public land-grant research university at Starkville, established 1878, with a reported acceptance rate near 70%. Two features make it unusually accessible to a Kazakh applicant. Its English requirement can be met four ways — TOEFL 71, IELTS 6.0, ACT English 19 or SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 510 — so one SAT can serve for both English and scholarships. And SAT or ACT scores are required only in two defined circumstances: 'only if your GPA is below 3.0 based on our evaluation of your transcripts or if you are applying for scholarships.' A student with a strong attestat who does not need funding may apply without any admissions test at all. MSU recommends a NACES course-by-course credential evaluation, naming The Evaluation Company or MyIEE as its preferred providers.
