Public land-grant research university
USD 34,080 (2025/26)
Montana State is Montana's public land-grant research university at Bozeman. Its international awards are automatic, generous relative to the academic bar, and based on one thing only: 'These awards are based on grade point average only as of April 2, 2021... When an international student planning to attend MSU as a freshman submits their application, they are automatically considered for scholarships based on their grade point average from high school or college coursework. Students who are offered full admission... with a cumulative GPA of 2.5+ on a 4.0 scale are eligible for consideration. Awards range from USD 5,000-USD 12,000 per year.' A 2.5 threshold for up to USD 12,000 is among the most accessible ratios recorded. But awards are made 'in the order in which students are offered admission' from limited funds, so applying early matters as much as the grades.
