St. John's College

St. John's is a single college on two campuses, Annapolis and Santa Fe, founded in 1696 and the third oldest in the United States. It has no majors: every undergraduate follows the same Great Books curriculum in its entirety, in seminar classes of twenty or fewer, and all students study two languages. Students may transfer between campuses year to year and about a quarter do. It is secular despite the name. For a Kazakh applicant the finances are unusually favourable and unusually transparent: St. John's LOWERED its tuition in 2018 and publishes a full 2026-27 cost breakdown — USD 43,392 tuition, total USD 62,022 at Annapolis and USD 62,582 at Santa Fe. International applicants are eligible for BOTH need-based financial aid and merit scholarships. Typically students from 10 to 15 countries make up 10 to 15% of the college.
