Stevens sits on a bluff in Hoboken directly across the Hudson from Manhattan, and the location does real work — the School of Business feeds Wall Street and the co-op and internship pipeline runs on proximity to New York. Engineering accounts for 45.2% of bachelor's degrees and computer and information sciences a further 21.3%; a School of Computing opens in Fall 2026, splitting computing out of the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science. Two mechanics catch international applicants out. Test-optional does not apply to the accelerated pre-medicine and accelerated pre-law programmes, which require SAT or ACT scores. And the CSS Profile is required to be considered for a Stevens scholarship even though the only institutional aid available to international students is merit-based — the form is not an aid application here so much as a gate. Stevens also publishes a list of four approved recruitment agencies, which is unusual for a US university and worth knowing about competitively.
