Private research university
USD 66,520 (2026/27)
TCU is a private research university in Fort Worth, Texas, and one of a small group offering international students both merit scholarships and genuine need-based financial aid, assessed through the CSS Profile rather than the FAFSA, which means a Kazakh applicant can actually access it. The catch is timing. TCU states that international students are considered for financial aid awards only as entering first-year or transfer students, so a student who arrives unfunded cannot apply later. Its scholarship ladder runs from USD 1,000 a year to the Chancellor's Scholars Program, which covers full tuition, books and fees plus up to eight semesters of funded summer study abroad and eight funded internships, but that requires a separate Honors College application by 15 November. TCU's financial evidence requirements are unusually demanding, requiring a sponsor's employer and bank letters, twelve months of average balances, and proof of resources for all following years.
