OU is Oklahoma's public research university at Norman. Its international scholarship structure has one feature that sets it apart from almost every comparable institution: OU allows applicants to retake the SAT or ACT and submit improved scores well after the application deadline. OU states: 'You must apply for admission by December 15 to be considered for these scholarship opportunities. Applicants may retake the SAT and/or ACT exam and send updated, official exam results to the Office of International Admissions & Recruitment through April 30.' A Kazakh applicant with a marginal score therefore has four and a half months after applying to improve it and lift their award. Eligibility is precisely defined as 'admissible, non-US citizens attending secondary school in a country other than the United States.' OU also warns plainly that scholarship amounts may be taxable.
