Pitt is a state-related research university in Pittsburgh offering around 100 undergraduate majors, with roughly 8.4% of its student body drawn from 112 countries. Its international merit provision is stated plainly on its own financial aid pages and is unusually clear for a large public university: international first-year applicants who apply by 1 FEBRUARY are AUTOMATICALLY considered for merit scholarships of up to USD 10,000 annually, renewable for up to eight undergraduate terms subject to Satisfactory Academic Progress. Two limits matter. International TRANSFER students are excluded from that scholarship pool. And Pitt publishes no floor, so smaller awards exist — USD 10,000 is a ceiling rather than an expectation.
