University of Texas at Dallas

UT Dallas is a public research university at Richardson, north of Dallas. Its competitive scholarship waiver has the lowest threshold of any Texas institution recorded, and UT Dallas publishes the rules precisely: 'Eligible students include nonresident or international students who receive a qualifying competitive institutional scholarship of at least USD 1,000.' The terms are tighter than at Texas A&M in two ways a Kazakh applicant must understand. Awards cannot be combined to reach the minimum, so a single scholarship must be USD 1,000 or more. And the waiver does not renew: 'There is no automatic renewal or continuation of the waiver. The benefit does not cross academic years.' A new qualifying scholarship is needed each year. Applications open 1 August, with a 1 December priority deadline and 1 May regular deadline.
