Georgetown University in Qatar opened in 2005 in Doha's Education City and teaches the curriculum of Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, one of the leading international affairs programmes in the world. It states plainly that Georgetown practises need-blind admissions: an applicant's ability to meet college costs is not a criterion. Need-based grants reach up to the full cost of attendance, determined by the CSS Profile under code 4563. Two things make it unusually accessible to apply to. The application fee is waived for every completed application, and the campus is test flexible for autumn 2027 entry. Admission itself is not accessible: approximately 9% of applicants were admitted to the Class of 2030. The subject range is narrow by design. This is international affairs only, so an applicant should be certain of the field. For a Kazakh applicant that field is worth thinking about specifically: Central Asia sits at the intersection of Russian, Chinese and Western interests, and a Kazakh national trained in international affairs with Gulf regional exposure occupies unusual ground.
