Wenzhou-Kean University

Wenzhou-Kean University is a partnership between Wenzhou University and Kean University of New Jersey, teaching entirely in English on an American curricular model and admitting on American practice. It belongs among the American campuses abroad rather than among Chinese universities because the application is American rather than Chinese: no CSCA, no HSK, and SAT or ACT possibly accepted. It is the most affordable route to an American-model degree of the four American-model campuses in China. Reported tuition is a fraction of the Duke partnership at Kunshan and well below the NYU campus in Shanghai. For a Kazakh applicant who needs English-medium teaching but cannot fund the more expensive options, that difference is decisive. It is still several times a Chinese public university, so it is the most accessible entry point to the American-model route rather than a cheap one in absolute terms.
